The following pages were created by students
at Brunswick Middle School in Mr. Caravela’s 8th Grade Social Studies
class.
After studying the Colonial Times in class and
doing research on the time period.
Students were asked to write an advertisement sharing why people would
want to visit their colony. As a group,
they discussed what made good and bad layout on an Internet webpage as well as
viewed some examples of each. The
students typed the text of their advertisement in Microsoft Word. They then copied and pasted that text into a
webpage template that was created in Microsoft Publisher 98. Students were then given time to locate
images that were appropriate for placement on their webpage and learned how to
add them to the template.
